CONFIRM
The Presence of Mould

Confirm the presence of mould growth
The CIRV-M journey begins when the presence of mould is reported to the landlord or property management. The initial report may originate from the tenant, in-house maintenance staff or a third-party contractor.
CIRV-M provides the framework that ensures the mould issue is dealt with efficiently and to industry standards, confirmed at every stage with robust surface and air sampling. This begins with a swab surface test to confirm that what is being observed is mould. We recommend Mycometer testing for all surface and air sampling that does not require DNA identification.
CONFIRMATION is the first stage of CIRV-M
When a report of mould reaches the property manager, it is important to establish that what is reported is confirmed as mould and to establish the extent of the damage.
This involves collecting samples from suspected surfaces and analysing the swabs with a Mycometer-certified analysis contractor; with no laboratory needed, the results can be provided on-site if necessary. The results will confirm whether the mould is an active colony or dormant, dead and dried-out mould remnants. This will help to determine the appropriate remediation strategy and the potential health risks for the occupants.
The results of the surface sampling will provide the information required to proceed with the appropriate response, ensuring that resources are deployed effectively and efficiently.
