IDENTIFY

The Source of Moisture

CIRV-M

How bad? What is the moisture source?

The Identification phase represents a deeper dive into the intricacies of mould contamination. It extends beyond mere confirmation, focusing on understanding the extent and nature of the mould damage. Distinguishing between surface-level issues and deeper, systemic concerns is paramount for a holistic evaluation.

Establish the extent of mould growth and identify the moisture source

IDENTIFICATION is the second stage of CIRV-M

Identifying the extent of the mould problem and the cause of the excess moisture is essential for a successful mould management programme. Air and surface mould testing and moisture surveys can help to achieve this. The air testing will measure the concentration and distribution of mould spores within the property; the Mycometer-Activated sampling technique gives actionable data from this test. The surface testing will assess the condition and extent of mould growth on the building materials.

The moisture survey will identify the source(s) and pathways of moisture intrusion, such as leaks, condensation, or poor ventilation. This will help us understand the underlying factors contributing to the mould problem and how to prevent them from recurring.

Robust Testing

The correct testing system will provide accurate, actionable data.

I.D. Water Source

Identifying and removing the water source will prevent mould from growing.
